CEDIA HTE registers 7pc visitor increase

‘Exceptional’ visitor numbers on the middle day contributed to a total attendance of 5,559 at this year’s CEDIA Home Technology Event, representing an increase of around 7% on the 2010 show.

‘Exceptional’ visitor numbers on the middle day contributed to a total attendance of 5,559 at this year’s CEDIA Home Technology Event, representing an increase of around 7% on the 2010 show.

Reflecting this success, CEDIA HTE – which was organised for this first time this year by Upper Street Events – has already received advance bookings for next year from AWE, Control4, Premier Mounts, Redline, Carlo Gavazzi, Totem and IMP.

More than 250 brands supported the 2011 event, which incorporated a number of new initiatives. The 3D Zone featured top-end displays from JVC and Panasonic, as well as support from the likes of Arcam, AWE Europe, Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, KEF and URC, while the new Hub Theatre arena attracted visitors to hear presentations from Arup’s Jim Read, NICEIC’s Tony Cable and John Cullen Lighting’s Lucy Martin, among others.

The comprehensive education programme included 90-plus hours of CEDIA training, while more than 300 people attended an opening night drinks reception that featured music from Admiral Fallow.

Cheryl Carroll, show manager from Upper Street Events, commented: “We are delighted with the industry reaction to our first ever show for CEDIA. The industry turned out in really good numbers to support the show, which offered a great chance to see major products and new integration technologies. Exhibitors were pleased to see so many new faces at the show and also appreciated the high quality audience. Our new features, including the Hub Theatre programme, Room Set spaces and 3D Feature Zone, proved popular and, with new exhibitors signing up for next year already, we’ve a great platform to build on for 2012.”

The 2012 event will take place at the same venue, ExCeL London, from 29 to 31 May.
