Christie and CCI have announced an agreement which will see Christie supply some 220 digital cinema projectors to Cinema City International (CCI) — the largest multiplex theatre operator in Central and Eastern Europe (as well as Israel) and the third largest overall exhibitor in Europe.
Speaking of the developing relationship with Christie, Titra/Cinema Technologies principal owner and CEO Ron Gritzerstein said: “Cooperation with the right partners and suppliers to achieve this objective is paramount to us. We have been working continuously with Christie for over 15 years and it’s proven to be a trusted and successful partnership. Once again we have listened to the client’s challenges and requirements, and then liaised closely with Christie to meet and exceed their needs.”
CCI operates a total of 885 screens, and the agreement with Christie – which included a combination of Christie CP2220 Series and Christie CP2230 Series projectors – will be another step toward CCI going all-digital. Deployment will be in Israel and Europe’s eastern bloc (including Poland, Romania and Bulgaria).
“We are very happy to sign another deal with Christie,” said CCI’s CEO, Moshe Greidinger. “We have already installed many Christie projectors in our cinemas and we are very pleased with their quality and service. Christie and Cinema Technologies were always tuned in to our problems and needs and we are very happy and proud to be able to close another such deal with them.”
“We are delighted to be supporting CCI in the conversion of its expanding cinema estate to digital,” said Richard Nye, Christie EMEA cinema sales director (pictured). “As one of the major European exhibitors, we are proud that they have chosen Christie solutions.”
