Boston Acoustics partnering Marantz

Boston Acoustics is to become the preferred partner for all Marantz electronics with effect from the beginning of April.

Boston Acoustics is to become the preferred partner for all Marantz electronics with effect from the beginning of April.

As a result of this new partnership between the companies – which are both part of the D&M portfolio – Marantz has announced an amicable end to its long-standing distribution agreement with Mordaunt-Short.

Consequently, Marantz will cease distribution of Mordaunt-Short speakers with effect from 1 April. The timing is said to reflect a mutual desire for a ‘neat conclusion’ that coincides with the start of the new financial year.

D&M Europe’s president sales & marketing, Terry O’Connell (pictured), commented: “We have enjoyed an extremely friendly and highly successful partnership with Mordaunt-Short over many years. We will work just as hard to maintain that good spirit as we approach the end of our association, ensuring we finish this relationship professionally.”

The Boston Acoustics/Maratz announcement emerges as Boston benefits from ‘significantly increased’ R&D investment, the aim being to develop a new range of hi-fi and home cinema loudspeakers for the European market. The result is the new A Series, designed by Marantz brand ambassador Ken Ishiwata.
