Barix Radio goes live

The new agreement with InFocus follows a recent review by the US-based manufacturer of its UK distribution strategy.

Darren Lewitt (pictured), divisional director at Midwich, commented: “There is no doubt in our minds that specialist AV distribution is driving the market growth at the moment. With the introduction of so many new technologies, specialist distributors are needed more than ever. It seemed obvious to us that InFocus needed to adapt to the changes in the market. Clearly, InFocus was looking for a distribution partner that could sell its new range of projectors and that is exactly what Midwich does best. InFocus is joining us at a great time because we have just posted our strongest ever quarter on projectors.”

Meanwhile, Lewitt has also been reflecting on Midwich’s recent AV technology showcase event, which took place at Ascot Racecourse in February. Described by Sanyo’s Ian Aitken as “without doubt the most professional event I have seen during my time with Sanyo”, the AV showcase played host to a number of notable ‘firsts’, including a new CCTV monitor from AG Neovo, the first UK showing of Sony’s new VPL-FX41 inorganic LCD technology, and the inaugural UK appearance of two new high-end projectors from Sanyo.

“I am pleased to say that the event was a resounding success,” Lewitt told II. “In times like these, it’s important that we get out there, meet our customers and show them the latest AV innovations first-hand. Trade shows are a vital part of our sales and marketing strategy and we may make this an annual event.”
