Barcelona’s Mayoress Ada Colau has personally thanked ISE for choosing the Catalonian capital to host its annual AV trade show in its city from 2021 – insisting together they can create the biggest and best ISE event ever.
Addressing the assembled media in Barcelona – a stone’s throw from the famous La Ramba strip – Mayoress Colau described the two organisations as sharing the same values and desires around achieving growth and ensuring the experience for visitors and exhibitors – both inside and outside of the event – is a positive one.
Sitting alongside AVIXA CEO David Labuskes, CEDIA global president Tabatha O’Connor, ISE MD Mike Blackman and Catalan government minister of enterprise and knowledge Angels Chacho, she said: “We are delighted to welcome you [ISE] to our city and we are committed to working together to making ISE bigger and better than ever.
“ISE is a benchmark event in the AV sector and has been looking for a new location to help it grow even bigger. We at the city council appreciate you [ISE] for selecting Barcelona as the venue in this important point.
“Mr Blackman came to see us a few months ago as ISE had been considering Barcelona. We had some very positive conversations. We made a strong commitment to create a fruitful relationship and now we see the result.
“I’m sure this is the beginning of a new friendship”
Blackman added: “We’ve visited many of Europe’s leading exhibition venues. Ultimately, Barcelona was our unanimous choice. Fira Barcelona is one of Europe’s leading exhibition and conference locations.”
Across two venues, the Fira annually hosts 140 trade shows, conferences and corporate events. This includes 30,000 exhibitors and attracts over two million visitors from over 200 countries.
