Leading CI distributor AWE has established a Technical Services division to provide its trade dealer base with specification, site survey, delivery and installation support for all large screen TV projects.
As the choice of screen sizes continues to increase, ultra-large TVs are becoming more affordable and increasingly popular to the residential customer. However, a 75in screen is the largest that can realistically be put through a normal delivery network and installation process, with larger panels generally requiring specialist expertise and handling.
Stuart Tickle, managing director of AWE, comments: “Big screen installation assistance is something that AWE has always offered to its trade customers, but we are proud to now bring this whole service in house. To do this, we have invested in a custom built low-loader vehicle and associated equipment to get screens safely to and from the site. We have also brought on board a team who have the ability to handle both site surveys and the installations themselves.”
AWE Technical Services has already delivered and installed multiple screens working with its trade customers including the 85in and 103in Custom Home Theatre screens from Panasonic. These include an installation in a basement area in Central London, major retail stores in London, Reading and Manchester, and also at the British Grand Prix for the British Racing Drivers Club.
AWE distributes Philips Dynalite lighting control systems and URC Total Control home automation, alongside a wide range of AV equipment from leading manufacturers. AWE says that, with the introduction of the Technical Services division, it is the only trade supplier in the UK able to offer training, specification, delivery and big screen installation support – everything the installer requires to complete a big screen installation.
