Unified communications integrator AVSolution has rebranded to avsnet. The new brand maintains its heritage (avs) while indicating its focus on collaborative unified communications (net). The company has been trading for seven years and has seen year-on-year growth over the past three, culminating in 40% more business last year.
Alongside its traditional videoconferencing installation and support, avsnet has experience in application performance management, which allows it to deliver network-centric video experiences to global businesses. In addition to brand changes, the company has welcomed on board non-executive chairman Mike Mason (pictured), who has experience working in global network providers.
Mason told Installation: “If you look at most IT departments they are being asked to do more and more with the same, or in many even less resources – therefore more corporates are having to partner with specialist suppliers.” “The reason we have seen massive adoption of Cloud technologies is because most customers want the flexibility to buy services supporting their business in a utility-type model.”
It is this, Mason says, that gives customers flexibility of price points, whilst transferring the risk to the provider. “Therefore we will be developing managed services to complement our on-premise solutions, that way allowing our customers the choice of supply and financial model: opex versus capex.
“In addition to this, the company recognised a while ago that videoconferencing – and for that matter any business communications media – no longer stands in isolation, as with unified communications you may be using voice, video and data simultaneously during a collaborative videoconference.”
Avsnet managing director Graham Fry concluded: “We quickly realised that if we stood solely as a specialist video communications and AV company we would struggle to convince the market of our excellent capabilities in unified and network-centric communications. While we are still seeing exceptionally strong video integration levels within UC strategies, by using our own resources we’re able to deliver full UC and network rollouts to our customers.”
