AudioForum@ISE2015 education conference announced

AudioForum will conduct a full day education event at ISE on 9 February, in room G001/G1002 called ‘How to optimise audio into a venue’. It’s the fifth edition of AudioForum, after editions held in Milan (2013, during SIEC Convention), Amsterdam (ISE 2014), Mumbai (InfoComm India 2014) and again Milan (in cooperation with SIEC2014, the Italian event for Systems Integration).

AudioForum@ISE will focus on digital tools helping audio designers and systems integrators to perfect design audio systems, installations, speakers and components, with seminars held by qualified professionals.

The purpose of the AudioForum is to illustrate the principles of evaluation, considering all the variables involved, and the relative solutions of typology, sizing and placement of the loudspeakers.

It will start with an introductory overview of the situation followed by a series of presentations where experts will discuss computational tools and technology solutions they have developed in this field.

The morning seminar will cover acoustics properties from the perspective of sound systems, and how the room acoustics can affect the intelligibility.

At 11:45 ‘The Trend of Simulation and Measurement Tools in Acoustics and for Sound Systems’ will include discussions on modern acoustic measurement technology, integration with DSP control.

The afternoon seminar at 14:00 covers signal processing for loudspeaker performance optimisation, and sound reinforcement system alignment.

Powersoft will bring its Sound School to the event and give a 40 minute condensed presentation. The aim of Powersoft’s Sound School is to disseminate knowledge in the field of sound engineering; mainly focused on sound system design, amplifier management and loudspeaker alignment. The Sound School offers a complete review of the fundamentals related to acoustics, electronics and electroacoustics when applied to hardware setup, remote control and system management.

The final seminar at 15:00 will look at practical ways to judge sound systems. It will consider different measurement techniques, an introduction of room acoustics and psychoacoustics, sound system setups and Kees Neervoort’s philosophy regarding sound systems.
