Distribution company Anthem AV Solutions has been appointed to serve as the UK distributor of new American architectural speaker company Live-Wall.
Founded by Ricardo Lazzari and based in California, Live-Wall is focused on the goal of achieving ‘perfect invisible sound’. The company’s first product, the LW1218 speaker, is described as the industry’s only point-source, direct-radiating invisible speaker system.
Designed to sound like a traditional high-end in-wall speaker system while remaining ‘complete invisible’ under plaster, paint or wallpaper, the LW1218 is suitable for both retrofit and new construction (an optional fire-rated back box available for the latter).
The LW1218 is weather-resistant and can be fitted in environments including showers, steam rooms and boats. The 30.5 x 45.5 x 7.3 cm speaker offers a 160-degree dispersion pattern and incorporates a 2-inch voice coil driven by an oversized neodymium motor. The diaphragm – which is in direct contact with whatever the user decides to cover the speaker with – is an ultra-flat and stiff woven fibreglass design. Power handling to 100W, output of 102dB at 1m, and a frequency range of 54Hz-20kHz round out the specification.
Tom Garrett, technical sales manager at Anthem AV Solutions, commented: “The Live-Wall speaker sounds as good as a traditional in-ceiling speaker because it works like a traditional speaker. If an installer has dismissed invisible speakers in the past due to poor sound quality, then they really need to listen to these.”
