AMX announced its Tango Distributed Audio product line, which includes audio controllers, zone expanders and amplifiers, at CEDIA Expo earlier this month. One Tango Distributed Audio system accommodates eight sources with distribution to four or eight zones; however, the system can be easily expanded to support up to 64 zones with up to 24 speakers per zone.
The system is styled to be displayed on a shelf along with source equipment – such as a CD player, iPod docking station or AM/FM receiver – or in a cabinet or rack. Control is via AMX’s new Metreau Audio Keypads, which are available in two configurations – six-source with navigation and numeric – or an AMX Mio Modero R-1 Audio Remote.
For applications requiring distributed audio as part of an integrated solution that controls and automates lights, audio/video equipment, HVAC and security, the Tango line can be combined with the new AMX NI-3101 Signature Series NetLinx Integrated Controller, which reflects the same styling as the Tango Controller. Alternatively, the Tango Distributed Audio System can be paired with any AMX NetLinx Controller.
Tango Distributed Audio controllers, zone expanders and amplifiers will be available in February 2008.
