AMX acquires ProCon Technology

Founded in 1989, ProCon has focused exclusively on the development of simple, cost-effective solutions for classrooms, conference rooms and other small rooms with limited AV control and distribution requirements. The company’s product portfolio includes combined keypad and controller systems, presentation and matrix switchers, and distribution amplifiers.

The deal will see ProCon being fully integrated into AMX, will all current ProCon employees becoming AMX employees. The new owner is planning to introduce ProCon products to more markets outside the UK in the near-future.

AMX president and CEO Rashid Skaf told II: “With the in-house expertise of AutoPatch, Endeleo and now ProCon, AMX is supplying an ever-growing range of device, asset and content control solutions to the commercial market – from basic classroom control all the way to the most sophisticated Network Operations Center. Over time, these product lines will evolve as our engineering teams around the world collaborate on blended solutions that will provide our dealers and users with exciting new features and capabilities.”

“ProCon products have primarily been sold in the UK; however, as part of AMX, our solutions will become part of a worldwide sales and distribution network, expanding our market opportunity exponentially,” said Chris Kendall, ProCon’s managing director. “We are very excited to be part of the AMX family and look forward to working with the rest of AMX to develop future solutions that will further expand the capabilities of our products.”
