All change at the top of Maverick

Simon Fagan has returned to Computer2000 as general manager of Maverick, where he replaces Sid Stanley.

There has been a change at the top at UK distributor Maverick, with Sid Stanley being replaced by Simon Fagan.

Stanley (pictured) has left to become vice president for Promethean’s international channel. He joined Maverick in 2009, having previously been at Sony Professional since 2000.

Promethean is a ‘vendor partner’ of Maverick’s.

Stanley is replaced by Simon Fagan, who becomes Maverick’s new general manager. Fagan joins from Xerox where he was responsible for desktop publishing and supplies across Europe.

His appointment is, to some extent, a homecoming as it was Maverick’s parent company, Computer2000, that Fagan left in 2009 to join Xerox. He had been with Computer2000 for seven years, where he was head of the company’s print and supplies business.

Fagan’s earlier career included an eight-year spell with Epson, where he headed the UK operation as sales and marketing director.

“Maverick is a dynamic business that’s seen significant growth as a specialist distributor in recent years,” said Fagan. “We see more potential for expansion, both within Maverick’s focus area and through the many established customer relationships we have with resellers in converging market areas, such as audiovisual, networking and consumer electronics.”

“As people interact and share ideas more, audiovisual technologies are appealing to a wider market, in both the public and commercial sectors. I’m looking forward to working with the Maverick team and with our vendor partners to maximise the opportunities, both within the audiovisual space and the multiple channels to which we have direct and unrivalled access.”

Fagan takes up his new post with immediate effect, reporting to David Watts, commercial director of Computer 2000.
