AJA Video Systems introduces T-TAP powered by Thunderbolt

T-TAP is a HD-SDI and HDMI video device that uses a single Thunderbolt cable for both power and data delivery from any compatible Mac system. According to the company the portable device can support everything from SD to HD to 2K and mixed 3D with 10-bit quality.

Now shipping from AJA Video Systems is the company’s T-TAP, its compact, lightweight HD-SDI and HDMI Thunderbolt-powered video device. T-TAP is said to allow video professionals to leverage the power of Thunderbolt to deliver high-quality video and embedded audio output from any compatible Mac system.

According to the company, the T-TAP’s simple, single Thunderbolt cable for both power and data enables easy set-up for video professionals. The highly-portable device is claimed to support everything from SD to HD to 2K and mixed 3D with pristine 10-bit quality, even over HDMI, and all with eight-channel embedded audio. It also includes AJA’s Mac drivers and software for integrated compatibility with major software packages from Apple, Adobe, Avid and many more.

Key T-TAP features include high-speed Thunderbolt connectivity; 10-bit uncompressed 4:2:2 video and embedded audio output; HD/SD-SDI and HDMI connectivity supports simultaneous output at 10-bit quality; and 3D support on HDMI and SDI for realtime muxed stereoscopic review without requiring additional hardware.
