Embedded platform and integration services provider Advantech has confirmed that its ARK-DS220, ARK-DS520 and ARK-DS762 are compatible with NDS’s PADS digital signage software, having been tested and certified by NDS. The solution was first showcased at ISE 2013, featuring restaurant and transportation applications..
This, according to Advantech, means that system integrators and end users can easily create a reliable digital signage application that combines both hardware and software.
Among the three certified Advantech media players, the ARK-DS220 and ARK-DS520 are powered by an Intel Atom processor with an integrated NVIDIA ION2 graphic module for Full HD playback. The ARK-DS220 is compliant with OPS, and its slot-in module design, says Advantech, effectively lowers deployment and field maintenance costs to simplify device installation, usage, maintenance and upgrades.
The ARK-DS520 features a combination of video output interfaces for dual display, is highly expandable via the internal Mini PCIe interface and has a low-profile design for easy installation, according to Advantech. The ARK-762 combines high processing and graphics performance (Intel 3rd Gen Core i) with rich I/O and extra flexibility via optional expansion modules. The ARK-DS762 can support three independent HDMI displays, and supports Microsoft Kinect technology.
“We are excited and honoured to be a certified signage software provider for Advantech,” said Sjoerd van Leeuwen, CCO at NDS. “Our partners and customers choose the powerful PADS4 software for its versatility, and require high performance hardware to drive their content. Advantech players perform very well with our software.”
