Adding a new dimension: ISE’s 3D Theatre returns

The ISE 3D Theatre returns to Amsterdam this year with an all-new programme of presentations and a larger, more easily accessible location: Rooms E105 and E106, alongside Hall 10.

The ISE 3D Theatre returns to Amsterdam this year with an all-new programme of presentations and a larger, more easily accessible location: Rooms E105 and E106, alongside Hall 10. While last year’s 3D focus was on the various core technologies that comprise a successful 3D installation, this year the emphasis is firmly on the real-world applications that can benefit from an additional dimension. “3D is a fast-moving market,” notes Lutz Möhr of 3D-CC, the 3D Competence Centre, which as last year has acted as ISE’s consultant in compiling the Theatre programme. “Since ISE last year, we’ve seen more 3D devices come to market, including mobile devices such as tablets and smart phones. We’ve seen 3D image quality improve substantially – and we’ve seen prices coming down. What was true last year is not necessarily true this year – which is why visitors should find out more by visiting the ISE 3D Theatre in 2012.” Application sectors to be covered by the programme include sports, live events, documentary and TV programme-making, medicine, visitor attractions, industrial visualisation, and many more besides. ISE Technology Partners including Lang AG, Alcons Audio, DVS and Schneider Digital will be collaborating to ensure that as well as practical information on how to add the ‘third dimension’ to projects in these sectors, visitors to the ISE 3D Theatre will also experience immersive video and surround sound of the highest quality. The result will be not just an inspiring multimedia experience but a valuable insight into what can be achieved when a 3D system is conceived and implemented as a single entity from the outset. All sessions will be repeated at various times during ISE 2012, enabling visitors to attend the session(s) of their choice at a time that fits their schedule. All sessions are free of charge, but space is limited and attendees are advised to come early to be sure of a seat. Click here to view the ISE 3D Theatre schedule at a glance.
