AVIXA acquires Lightapalooza

Residential lighting conference and trade show, which has grown from 225 to over 1,600 attendees since its 2022 launch, will be co-located with InfoComm 2027 in Orlando

AVIXA has acquired Lightapalooza, a residential lighting conference and trade show, from the Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA). The next edition of the event will be co-located with InfoComm 2027 in Orlando, Florida.

Lightapalooza was launched by HTSA in 2022 for custom electronics integrators, lighting manufacturers, designers, specifiers, architects and buying groups. It grew from 225 attendees in its first year to more than 1,600 in 2026, and has become closely associated with the rise of lighting as the fastest-growing category in residential custom integration.

David Labuskes, CEO of AVIXA, said: “As the trade association for the AV industry, one of AVIXA’s roles is to help facilitate the marketplace. We do this in many ways, most notably through our trade shows around the world – the premier forum for connection.”

Tom Doherty, founder of Lightapalooza and director of new technology initiatives for HTSA, added: “The acquisition places Lightapalooza inside an organisation whose structure is designed to reinvest in the communities it serves. As a non-profit trade association, the surplus from AVIXA’s events flows back into education, certification, research, and professional development for the industries it represents, which will further support the growth of Lightapalooza and the residential lighting community.”

Jenn Heinold, senior vice president, expositions, Americas, AVIXA, added: “AVIXA prides itself on producing experiential shows that connect solution providers and buyers while delivering education excellence to AV professionals. Bringing Lightapalooza into the AVIXA portfolio and co-locating it with InfoComm 2027 is a meaningful step in creating a more powerful platform for the lighting community to connect, learn, and grow.”
