Crestron announces judging panel for integration awards

Crestron Europe Integration Awards judges includes Installation editor Rob Lane

Crestron has announced the judging panel for 2022’s returning Crestron Europe Integration Awards. Entries are encouraged from all over Europe, Middle East and Africa and will be judged by an independent panel of industry figures from a variety of sectors reflecting the awards categories.

To ensure a fair procedure, the judging panel of industry specialists has been carefully selected to bring a diverse range of opinion and expertise to the table, so that every entry can be assessed accurately and from a mix of viewpoints. Of the six judges on this year’s panel, three will judge the residential entries and three will review the commercial entries.

The three commercial judges are:

Sarah Joyce, chief global officer, AVIXA
Sarah has worked in the AV industry for more than 20 years and has a breadth of international business experience working with integrators, manufacturers, distributors and end-users. As chief global officer of AVIXA, Sarah oversees the association’s global membership, certification, councils, and international trade shows. She also sits on the boards of Integrated Systems Events and InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd.

Rob Lane, editor, Installation
With over 25 years of experience as an editor, publisher, journalist and PR professional, Rob knows the pro AV industry inside out. From 2009 until 2020, he ran PR & Marketing support outfit Bigger Boat PR, whilst writing extensively for numerous pro and residential AV B2B publications in the UK and US. In November 2020, he was appointed editor of Installation.

Wayne Buttigieg, director of teaching & learning technology, London Business School
Since joining London Business School nearly a decade ago, Wayne fell in love with AV and the ability to create innovative, intuitive spaces, cementing his passion for using technology to improve the learning experience of students. Wayne co-created the Hybrid Teaching model at LBS in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which now has world-leading spaces that enable users to seamlessly pivot between face to face, virtual and hybrid teaching.

The three residential judges are:

Rebecca Weir, creative director, light.iQ
Rebecca Weir is renowned for creatively pushing the boundaries of architectural lighting. Rebecca and her team at light.iQ ensure seamlessly integrated solutions and advanced technology are best utilised to deliver outstanding results across multi-award-winning projects. Her mission as a lighting designer is to create the ultimate customer experience bringing the intangible resource of light to life.

Jack Robinson, director, SuperYacht Technology
Following a career in superyacht media, Jack worked for a leading R&D company specialising in technology for UHNWI as global distribution manager. Combining his commercial acumen with a capacity to humanise technology, he was promoted to commercial director and went on to work on both marine and residential projects. Jack later launched Superyacht Technology with a goal to bring tech to the forefront of the sector, and recently established the Superyacht Technology Conference.

Chris Pask, director, Charlton Brown Architecture & Interiors
Charlton Brown Architecture & Interiors is an award-winning practice where over the last 20 years director Chris Pask has built a reputation for innovative solutions which enlighten a brief and give delight to completed projects. Each project requires its own solution and is truly bespoke to fit a client’s lifestyle and requirements. His team is composed of 30 passionate architects and designers, who deliver some of the highest quality residential projects across London and further afield.

Dealers from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa are invited to enter their projects and themselves at https://www.crestron.com/Europe-Integration-Awards, by December 3, 2021, with winners announced at a virtual ceremony hosted during ISE, on February 2, 2022.

Entrants will be judged on the written information provided in the online submissions form, with supporting imagery and video files strongly encouraged. Winners will be selected based on their ability to communicate their unique interpretation of using Crestron technology to create superior smart spaces and meet the customer’s brief.
