tvONE announces strategic partnership with Matrox Video

Deal combines tvONE's CALICO PRO video processing platform with Matrox’s ConvertIP Series of encoders, decoders, and converters

tvONE has announced a strategic partnership with Matrox Video, combining the CALICO PRO video processing platform with Matrox’s ConvertIP Series of encoders, decoders, and converters. The integration is designed to extend CALICO PRO’s capabilities to SMPTE ST 2110 and IPMX environments, enabling both compressed and uncompressed workflows for professional AV and broadcast applications.

The addition of ST 2110 connectivity allows CALICO PRO to interface directly with broadcast-grade IP infrastructures, supporting uncompressed, low-latency video streams. According to the company, this gives customers the ability to route content dynamically across fibre networks, bypassing traditional signal limitations and deploying CALICO PRO as a central processing hub in distributed systems. With the inclusion of IPMX support, the system is designed to bridge professional AV and broadcast operations for greater interoperability.

The CALICO PRO’s 66 million-pixel processing engine, combined with Matrox Video’s FPGA core technology, provides what the companies describe as enhanced flexibility and precision across demanding visual environments such as control rooms, live productions, and experiential installations.

Bob Bonniol, director of innovation for video at ACT Entertainment, said the collaboration exemplifies the kind of innovation that drives the industry forward. “tvONE and Matrox Video are not just connecting devices, they are connecting creative potential. CALICO PRO’s processing power paired with ConvertIP’s ST 2110 agility gives designers and technologists the tools to build immersive, scalable systems that were previously out of reach.”

Sam Recine, vice-president of strategic partnerships at Matrox Video, added: “Together, tvONE and Matrox Video deliver AVoIP without compromise. Signal in. Brilliance out. When manufacturers like tvONE add ST 2110 support to products like CALICO PRO, they empower customers to build scalable, interoperable, and latency-free systems that meet the demands of modern AV and broadcast environments.”

The partnership positions CALICO PRO as a hybrid solution capable of handling the full spectrum of IP-based workflows, reflecting the continued convergence of broadcast and pro AV technologies in enterprise and live event production.
