RUCKUS Networks, a division of global telecoms infrastructure company CommScope, has become an Adopting Member of the SDVoE Alliance, the nonprofit consortium working to standardise Ethernet as the transport layer for AV signals in professional environments.
The membership is designed to strengthen the availability of purpose-built network infrastructure for SDVoE deployments. RUCKUS’s portfolio – which spans switches, Wi-Fi and CBRS access points, cloud management tools, AI/ML analytics software and IoT platforms – is intended to align with the SDVoE ecosystem’s goals of delivering high-performance, scalable AVoIP solutions.
The SDVoE Alliance platform supports AV extension, switching, video walls, multiview processing and KVM, all over Ethernet. At its core is a 10Gbps architecture, which the alliance says ensures uncompromising quality and scalability across markets including enterprise, education, healthcare, government and live events.
RUCKUS Networks, the company says, is already trusted across enterprise, education, hospitality and service provider environments, and the new alliance membership is expected to bring Ethernet-based AV transport to a broader range of installations through its existing partner network.
Stephane Tremblay, president of the SDVoE Alliance, said: “By joining the SDVoE Alliance, RUCKUS Networks can further support customers and partners who are embracing the transition to Ethernet-based AV transport, bringing high-performance AVoIP to new environments with the same dependability they’ve come to expect from RUCKUS.”
