ETC has started the application process for its acclaimed LDI Student Sponsorship. Six students will be selected from around the world for the all expenses paid trip to LDI 2011 in Orlando, Florida, in October.

Final year undergraduates and postgraduates (undertaking a Masters or a PhD) studying lighting design, theatre technology or a related field are eligible to apply.

ETC has made it even easier to apply this year, putting the application online at www.etcconnect.com/LDI-2011. The form can be completed electronically, or printed and posted to ETC. The deadline to apply is 6 May.

The sponsorship is a great way to gain experience, see the inner workings of the lighting industry and do some networking. ETC covers the airfare, hotel accommodations, meals, conference passes, and will give you some exclusive swag.

During show hours, you’ll get a behind the scenes look at ETC and its newest innovations as well as a front row seat to the latest developments in entertainment technology; after show hours, ETC will be holding a student reception where you can meet industry luminaries – lighting designers, teachers, consultants, journalists and employers – and connect with peers.
