Mantziusgården Culture Centre, Birkerød village, Denmark, is a performing arts centre that stages diverse performances inside its 750-seat venue – ranging from chamber music and a Queen tribute band to lectures, comedy and children’s events.
The site was recently upgraded with a Meyer Sound JM-1P arrayable loudspeaker system replacing its 21-year old Meyer Sound UPA-1 loudspeakers. The new self-powered JM-1P system and its previously conventionally powered UPA-1 loudspeakers are both point source systems from Meyer Sound despite there being three decades between each introduction. “As a company, Meyer Sound is built on an appreciation for excellent sound,” said Thomas Normann Løve, the venue’s resident sound engineer. “This commitment is clearly heard in the exceptional performance of our Meyer Sound equipment” The new sound system, designed by Stouenborg’s Andres Jørgenson using the MAPP Online Pro acoustical predication program, features left and right cluster of three JM-1P loudspeakers each, while an additional complement of five UPJ-1P VariO loudspeakers and two UPM-1P loudspeakers supply front fill and balcony delay. Controlled base comes from left and right end-fired arrays of two-each 700-HP subwoofers, with system EQ and delay provided by a Galileo loudspeaker management system with one Galileo 616 processor. A Meyer Sound SIM3 audio analyser was used in the installation for system tuning.
