BBC Radio Theatre revamps lighting with new LED solution from AC-ET

Stage, film, theatre, TV and architectural lighting system distributor A.C. Entertainment Technologies has supplied the BBC's Radio Theatre, which is located in Broadcasting House, London, with a new LED lighting solution featuring Chroma-Q, PixelRange and GLP LED light sources.

A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET) has supplied BBC’s Radio Theatre at Broadcasting House in central London with a new LED theatre lighting solution – featuring Chroma-Q, PixelRange and GLP LED light sources. The BBC Radio Theatre is designed to stage recorded and live performances including comedy, radio shows, live music, televised and red button events such as concerts, plus shows broadcast across the BBC’s network. Diverse events, theatrical broadcast and multimedia disciplines were all considered as the new LED lighting solution was designed. The new LED solution also needed to adhere to HD TV lighting specifications. Following extensive research into all the LED lighting options, the final decision was to purchase a number of Chroma-Q Color Force 12 multipurpose LED fixtures, PixelRange QPars and GLP Impression Spot One moving lights. The decision to choose the fixtures was based around their energy efficiency, less ongoing maintenance, no gel or re-gelling and their diverse range of colours.
