Vogel’s signs with Midwich8 June 2009
The 2009 show will feature a number of first-time exhibitors – including Yamaha, Red Square Audio, L-ACOUSTICS and Terralec – while many manufacturers will be showcasing new or recently-launched products. Soundcraft will spotlight the Si2 digital mixing console, d&b audiotechnik will show the T10 loudspeaker and Zero 88 will premiere new theatrical console the ORB, to name just a few.
Wireless technology will also be a major focus at the show, with AKG, beyerdynamic and Trantec among the companies set to show equipment that can cope with new and reduced spectrum bands.
Show director Roger Fox told II that the high pre-registration and exhibitor totals underlined the importance to pro-AV manufacturers of the theatre sector, and its resilience during the current economic circumstances. "The big new builds and refurbishments are fewer in number, but there are still many medium-sized projects where new equipment is required," he said. "In particular, school and college theatres are going up everywhere, which is great."
As in previous years, the ABTT Theatre Show will also incorporate the ABTT Awards. To be held on 10 June from 6.30pm, the event will incorporate two lifetime achievement awards presented by the ALD (Association of Lighting Designers).
