ISE 2016: Datavideo’s new KMU-100 4K video processing unit12 February 2016
Imagine being able to take a single 4K video source and create four individual outputs that can further be animated into a loop or ping/pong motion.
That’s the thinking behind the KMU-100 processing unit shown in prototype at ISE 2016 by Datavideo Technologies Europe. “Each of the four selection windows will have its own designated 3Gbps output that can be scaled up or down depending on the window size,” explained Valentijn Diemel, marketing manager (pictured). “In addition, a motion path can be created so a virtual pan/tilt and zoom makes each of the outputs more dynamic.”
Available inputs are 12G, four 3Gbps, DisplayPort and HDMI2.0 with outputs assignable as 3Gbps (four per channel) and a multiviewer (quadsplit) output (HDMI) per channel.
The device is intended for broadcast or corporate video communications allowing a single feed to be split into a virtual multi-camera operation.
The company is also showing the DVS-100 (a point to point solution) and DVS-100PRO (point to multi-point) for streaming video in H.264 over the internet.
