NSG Group: Ultra-thin float glass for touchscreens and displays11 February 2015
Pilkington Microfloat and Pilkington Microwhite – thin, high-grade float glass products manufactured to precise standards – are on show at the NSG Group stand.
They are made according to high specifications, with very low thickness tolerances, to ensure flat and uniform products and are suitable for a variety of applications.
Pilkington Microfloat and Pilkington Microwhite are both manufactured by the standard float glass process. Pilkington Microfloat is the classic version manufactured from clear float; the new Pilkington Microwhite is a low-iron composition which produces a very pure, clear glass and has the added benefit of increased light transmission.
Both Pilkington Microfloat and Pilkington Microwhite are ideal for a wide range of uses, including the production of microscope slides, cosmetic mirrors, chromatographic plates, LCD photo masks, automotive and technical glass, PC display screens and tablet PCs.
Various available glass thicknesses are suitable for microscope slides (0.95-1.05mm), microscope slides and cosmetic mirrors (1.0-1.2mm), chromatographic plates, cosmetic mirrors and technical glass (1.2-1.4mm) and photomasks, automotive and technical glass (1.5-1.7mm).
