SustainabilityAV agenda announced28 September 2010
Hot on the heels of AVNetworks 2010, the new online conference event co-hosted by PSNE and Installation Europe will take place on Wednesday 1 December. The first online conference and exhibition focusing on sustainability and green issues for the professional audio and video industry can be enjoyed from the comfort of your office or home.
Topics to be discussed and presented have now been confirmed, and include ‘Creative Thinking’ (how manufacturers are developing solutions to achieve green goals), ‘Energy Audit’ (how to map and reduce the carbon profile of your business), ‘Corporate Conscience’ (justifying budgets in the stustainable world), and ‘A Greener Installation’ (a look at the challenges and issues arising in state-of-the-art AV projects).
There will also be a a closing international case study from Atlanta’s amazing Tree Sound Studios. Further contributions during the day will come from the Eden Project, Arup, AECOM, Munro Acoustics, Hackney’s Premises Studios, and sustainability collective Julie’s Bicycle.
“At SustainabilityAV 2010, we will be exploring the meaning of the statement ‘environmental sense makes business sense’ in colourful and fulfilling ways,” said event chair and PSNE editor Dave Robinson. “And with the conference being online, it’s going to be an entertaining and enlightening experience for all participants.”
Installation Europe editor Paddy Baker added: “From a pure installation point of view, the seminar I’m most interested in is the ‘greener installation’ session in the afternoon, which will focus on significant projects including the Eden Project and the BBC Broadcasting House refurbishment and extension. But, not least because green AV is in its infancy, I’m sure that systems integrators and installers will find food for thought throughout the entire day’s programme.”
