The new Standalone Video Capture and Streaming device from StarTech.com allows users to capture and stream video content, without ever having to connect to a computer. Targeted at corporate meetings, presentations and instructors, the device features one-touch recording.

The product has two modes: recording and streaming. The user can record directly to a USB hard drive or SD card up to 64GB, or use the built-in LAN port to stream over to a local network or the internet to an online video service.

The device can also be used with a computer for traditional video capture (using PC software).

Uses include archiving videos in a digital library; creating walkthroughs and how-to tutorial videos; and capturing video for screencasts, product demonstrations, online tutorials, classroom lectures, presentations, or conferences.

“The new Standalone Video Capture and Streaming device is easy to use and provides the flexibility to capture and stream video without a connection to a computer. It captures HD video and streams in HD, allowing flexibility in sharing presentations, and letting viewers/colleagues around the world see the recording,” said John Mardinly, senior product manager for StarTech.com.

The Standalone Video Capture and Streaming device is distributed by Enta, Ingram Micro and Exertis and is also available from online retailers.
