Samsung chooses Midwich for 3D

Midwich has been appointed by Samsung as a UK distributor of 3D LED televisions falling under the new ‘AV Elite’ product category. These products are, says Midwich, ideally suited to the custom installation market and will only be available to custom installers or for use in C2B business projects.

“As we have learnt in the past, great products are not always a great proposition for the custom installation market,” said Mark Lowe, divisional manager for the consumer electronics division at Midwich. “It is equally important that the reseller can make a margin that justifies the effort required to make the sale. The AV Elite range represents a great margin opportunity and I’m sure it will live up to the legacy left by Pioneer and become the ultimate choice for custom installation.”

The AV Elite category includes Samsung’s 7000, 8000 and 9000 series 3D LED TVs. The flagship 9000 series has a brushed titanium finish, Samsung’s 3D HyperReal Engine and Mega Contrast Technology. It is fully network compliant and also offers access to the Samsung content portal, Internet@TV. The 55-inch model is a current finalist in the ‘Gadget of the Year’ category at the T3 Gadget Awards 2010.

“We are delighted to be working with Midwich to supply Samsung’s premium range of LED and plasma products to the custom installation market,” said Colin Rodgers, general manager at Samsung. “These products give the installer the opportunity to supply their customers with a fantastic futureproof product with 3D, Freeview HD and Internet apps technologies.  I‘m sure that the slim design of these televisions and unique wall mounting solution will appeal to the CI market’s discerning customer.”
