Integrated Systems Europe has always been notable for the quality of the stands on its show floor. Speaking at the ISE 2017 opening press conference, ISE managing director Mike Blackman commented: “I’ve been blown away by the level of stand design here… I’ve always been proud to boast that it’s been really good over the years, but this year I think it’s gone up another notch.”

To recognise the stand-design efforts of its exhibitors, ISE held its first-ever Stand Design Awards competition this year, with the winners announced in a presentation ceremony at the Audio Solutions Theatre. It was organised and independently run by EXHIBITOR magazine, an award-winning monthly publication featuring best practices for trade show marketing.

The nominees were divided into three size-based categories. The winners were:

LUMITRIX  – Best Stand up to 39sqm

Judges appreciated the versatility of this design, which allowed for interaction and adaptability. They felt it perfectly demonstrated the company’s product in an engaging way and packed a powerful punch in a minimal space.

EXPROMO – Best Stand between 40 and 100sqm

Judges applauded the exhibitor’s ability to integrate the screens into the architecture in a seamless yet interesting manner. They also appreciated the ancillary booth adjacent to the main exhibit, which extended the space making it appear even larger that it is, providing additional presence and an area perfect for one-on-one discussions with a primo vantage point of the main booth’s multimedia show.

EPSON EUROPE  – Best Stand over 100sqm

A consistent design language throughout the entire, massive space helped Epson take home an award in the more than 100sqm category. Judges also appreciated a similarly consistently high quality of digital content featured in myriad ways throughout the Epson exhibit. “I’d like to applaud Integrated Systems Europe for choosing to partner with an independent third party,” said Stanton. “Through this arrangement with ISE, the competition is able to be conducted in a completely unbiased manner, with the utmost integrity. All details have been organised by EXHIBITOR, with adjudication from a third-party panel of experiential design experts, who were able to evaluate each stand based on its merits and nothing more.”

The independent panel of judges, charged with picking a winners from a shortlist of 21 stands, were: Matthias Braun, creative director, Studio Atelier Damböck Messebau; Dick de Jong, manager of presentations and collections, NEMO Science Museum, Amsterdam; Aleksey Kozyrev, exhibition design team lead, Wargaming Group; and Andrew Sexton, creative director and agency partner, 2LK Design, UK.
