Projectiondesign - new Middle East sales manager, PALME plans

Recently appointed Middle East sales manager Tim Wood has been discussing projectiondesign’s plans for the PALME Middle East exhibition. From a specially devised 6m-high stand, projectiondesign will showcase edge-blended widescreen images – each one relayed with three of its DLP projectors.

One edge-blended display will be powered by three F32 sx+ projectors, while the other will deploy the ultra-high resolution F32 WUXGA model. Blending will be performed by projectiondesign’s new MIPS image processor.

This will not be the only focal point on the projectiondesign stand, however, as the company will also give UAE debuts to the F35 WQXGA DLP projector and the FR12 RLS (Remote Light Source) projection solution (pictured), as well as highlighting the F10 AS3D for 3D display.

The showcase afforded by PALME arrives at a time of expansion for projectiondesign in the Middle East. The company recently opened its first sales office in the UAE and announced the appointment of a sales manager for the Middle East in the form of Tim Wood. Having started his working life in UK retail store management, Wood relocated to Saudi Arabia and, latterly, the UAE, and moved into regional business development with Disney Consumer products. More recently, he served as regional business manager for hotel entertainment and comms systems provider Quadriga EMEA.

"The spirit of technological innovation that has characterised the UAE over the past decade remains bright," said Wood. "This is why my appointment coincides with the opening of a projectiondesign office in Dubai, and why we are looking forward to showing such a broad range of groundbreaking visual technologies at the PALME show."

Chris Axford, projectiondesign’s international sales & marketing director, is "confident that Tim’s skills, experience and enthusiasm for success will help the company firmly establish itself as top player in the region."

PALME Middle East 2010 is taking place now and concludes tomorrow (20 April) at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
