RK International took a major order for a Martin Audio W8L Longbow line array system during the extended opening hours of the event’s final day, while ESCO Audio Visual India Pvt matched the sale of five Reversa World Clarity holographic screens to Indian leisure company Sahara India Parivar on the opening day with a final-day sale of an Orion PDP expandable 4 x 4 rear projection plasma display panel to Satyam Computer Services’ Real Time Leadership Centre in Hyderabad.
The show also witnessed a number of new product launches. Mike Gopal at AMX gave a first showing (outside CEDIA) to five new control products, including a 5.2in wireless touch panel that is video and VOIP active, while Mystical Sound Productions showcased the Universe Laser System, which combines laser and LED sources in lightweight 3D displays.
One of the most highly-praised aspects of the show was the ability to demonstrate loudspeaker systems outdoors – a facility that was taken advantage of by Martin Audio, Ohm Industries and NEXO. Neeraj Chandra, director operations of NEXO distributor Sun Infonet Pvt, commented of his external GEO-T demonstrations: “It’s definitely been a success because a lot of people like to listen out of doors, and we have seen a lot of industry professionals.”
Summing up the feeling at PALME India 2007, show organiser James Raffoul commented: “The fact that companies are choosing this show to launch new products, and globally renowned manufacturers are exhibiting direct in the belief that PALME India will provide them with new marketing opportunities speaks volumes for the speed with which the exhibition’s reputation has grown.”
