OmniMount reveals ‘revolutionary’ flat-screen mount

test 16 December 2009

The omnimount (OMF) enables anyone to mount a medium-sized flat-panel TV in three easy steps. Users need only attach the panel spacers to the back of the TV using a screwdriver, mount the tiny wall brackets with the template provided, and hang the flat panel in place.

Priced at £39.99, the OMF accommodates any flat panel of 13in to 42in and up to 18kg into any wall. It also supports flat-panel TVs up to 36kg if mounted into masonry or a wooden stud.

According to OmniMount, the OMF includes everything required for "a foolproof installation right out of the box". The four separate wall brackets work with any and all hole patterns on flat-panel TVs, while two comprehensive installation templates ensure simple and accurate mounting.

The new product is also billed as another example of the company’s initiative to minimise steel parts thanks to its incorporation of recyclable plastic and reduced packaging.

Neil Curry, MD of OmniMount Systems UK, told IE Residential: "The flexibility of where OmniMount’s OMF can be installed, its ultra-low mounting profile, and its ease and speed of installation should all really appeal to the CI market. It will make the job so easy anyone can now put up a flat panel, even if they have no previous experience of doing so."
