New partnership to push Genelec in CI channel

test 29 January 2007

Finnish active loudspeaker pioneer Genelec and Belgian custom-installation distributor T+W Marketing will mark the beginning of ISE 07 by announcing a new partnership. With a view to expanding its CI presence in Europe, Genelec has appointed T+W Marketing to promote its active speakers and accessories to the custom-installation channel.

Under the terms of the agreement, T+W Marketing will be handling Genelec CI products for all EU countries apart from Sweden and Finland, which will remain under the control of Genelec’s James Gallacher. Representing Genelec for T+W Marketing is a geographically broadly-based team of four: Tom Vanhuyne, Hartmut Bayer, Neil Davidson and Wim de Vos.

The new arrangement will allow custom installers to purchase direct from Genelec, and the two companies say that dealers will also benefit from an increased marketing presence, as well as access to frequent training seminars.

Veikko Hyvˆnen, CEO of Genelec, says: "Along with the launch of our in-wall, in-celing and on-wall speakers, which offer custom installers a complete Genelec product line, bringing aboard T+W Marketing represents a major overhaul of Genelec’s commercial representation to the CI market in Europe.

"With T+W Marketing’s experienced team in place and its focus on the custom installer channel, we will be dramatically expanding our presence in this market throughout Europe."

T+W’s co-founder, Wim de Vos (pictured), adds: "Genelec holds a world-leading position in the very specialised field of audio engineering. This is a result of the company’s unequalled commitment to following scientific, acoustic design principles in all its research and development work. Genelec puts this same level of commitment into its newer CI products, and you can easily hear the results."
