New Gefen volume stabiliser now shipping30 November 2010
The GefenTV Auto Volume Stabilizer with Digital Audio Decoder offers the same functionality as the Auto Volume Stabilizer whilst adding digital-to-analogue audio decoding.
The result of this extra capability, says the manufacturer, is increased compatibility with stereo systems.
Employing Dolby Volume technology to enable a more consistent listening experience, the new product includes a bypass button for any circumstance in which automatic stabilising is not required.
A total of three audio selections are provided. Inputs and outputs support digital (TOSlink, S/PDIF) and analogue (L/R) audio formats. Users can select from all three connected devices at the same time, for added convenience. Surround sound systems using Dolby 5.1 such as Blu-ray, DVD and games are all supported. Audio can be mixed down from 5.1 to left/right analogue audio using Dolby AC3 decoding. Audio formats can also be passed through in the same digital and/or analogue format.
Source selection can be achieved either via an IR remote or a front-panel button.
Hagai Gefen, president and CEO of Gefen, told IE Residential: "The GefenTV Auto Volume Stabilizer is currently available throughout Europe, eliminating any loud volume spikes or drops on a home entertainment system. It works with television programmes, movies and CDs. We think this device will have a huge impact on consumers using an integrated audio system in the home."
