Midwich to distribute Videotree

Midwich and sister company Owl Visual Systems have announced a new distribution deal with LCD TV manufacturer Videotree. A specialist in screens for bathrooms, showers, kitchens and wet-room environments, Videotree’s offering includes the Videospa 19" widescreen and waterproof LCD TV with capacitive touch technology to enable full control over content with or without a remote control.

Factory-sealed for quick and simple installation – thereby freeing the installer from the inherent issues of dust, condensation and messy silicone sealant – the Videospa screen is available with a white, black or mirror finish. An IP version is also available, containing an integrated set-top box and a patented control board to simplify installation and maintenance.

Commenting on an arrangement that will see Midwich selling into the UK only to begin with, business manager Lee Baker observed: "This new deal with Videotree will create new installation opportunities in the hotel, leisure and hospitality market as well as residential custom installation sector. We are working hard to bring new opportunities like this to our customers in niche markets where they can make higher than average margins."

Securing this exclusive deal with Midwich allows us to focus on bringing out an even bigger range of quality bathroom LCD products to a wider audience and establishing Videotree as the market leader within the custom installation, hospitality and leisure markets."

It’s been an eventful month for Midwich, which has also announced a distribution contract with unified visual communications specialist Radvision. Looking to the future, Midwich divisional director Darren Lewitt told IE that the company is excited about the potential of the commercial TV category, in which it distributes products by the likes of Panasonic and Sanyo, as well as new LED/laser projector technology from Casio. Samsung’s interactive eBoards are also generating high levels of interest, while Midwich anticipates "strong demand for [Epson’s] new 450WI and 460WI interactive projector and plain whiteboard bundles within the education sector".
