Midwich signs VC deal with LG24 June 2011
Midwich has announced an exclusive distribution deal with LG video conferencing solutions. The company says that the partnership will further strengthen Midwich’s growing video conferencing portfolio and offer resellers an easy solution to promote video conferencing to their customers, and notes that LG’s advantage of providing an ‘easy solution’ diminishes the stereotypes attached to complicated video conferencing systems.
Initially, Midwich will be distributing the RVF1000, which is described as competitively priced, easy to install, portable in-room video conferencing system that offers 720p HD video, 30fps HD camera, interoperability, content sharing with single streaming, dynamic bandwidth allocation. Its portable, compact design is said to easily fit in to the provided carry case that comes with this model.
“The launch of the LG RVF1000 video conferencing solution will allow Midwich to offer resellers and an attractive, accessible and cost effective video conferencing solution, ideal for the education sector,” said Lee Baker, business manager at Midwich (pictured). “This LG video conferencing solution will also further complement our market leading range of LG displays, TVs and monitors.”
LG video conferencing systems are said to have three main design philosophies that include stylish design, reliability and Smart Technology. According to Midwich, the LG VCS products offer a simple and convenient interface and fully fledged features, with system backed up by LG’s multiyear experience in consumer product design and usability sector. The plug and play usability of this product are claimed to make it an ideal choice for education sectors, healthcare or small businesses that require minimal expertise and want ease of installation.
“At LG, we are constantly on the look-out for innovative means of growing our B2B portfolio, and given our size and scale, developing a video conferencing solution is the natural progression for us,” said Warren Lewis, commercial director, IT solutions at LG. "When it came to selecting a partner, Midwich was a natural fit. Their sales and marketing expertise, as well as their specialist knowledge of the video conferencing marketplace will prove invaluable. What’s more, thanks to our great relationship across a wide range of LG products, we’re confident that Midwich can actively and positively promote our new video conferencing product. This is an exciting step for LG and we’re thrilled to be taking it with Midwich.”
LG video conferencing resellers will, says Midwich, be able to capitalise on customer demand due to the well know LG brand image and use Midwich’s comprehensive portfolio of displays, TVs and monitors to make synergy with this video conferencing system.
“Video conferencing is an ideal way for businesses to improve their productivity and to save money,” said Jonathan Morris, video conferencing pre/post sales technical support at Midwich. “As employees become more used to the technology, they will use it without a second thought and will have good quality meetings that would not have taken place before, boosting productivity and speeding the business process. The addition of the LG RVF1000 to our Midwich portfolio gives us an entry level unit ideal for customers taking their first steps into videoconferencing with an easy to use point to point device at a competitive price.”
This launch is the latest video conferencing development from Midwich since the acquisition of RADVISION in 2010.
