Meko strengthens team

Meko, the European research company specialising in the displays market, has appointed Martin Wallman as director of business development.

"In the last year, we’ve invested heavily in new technology to create new services and Martin’s appointment allows us to bring the new services to more clients,” said Bob Raikes, managing director of Meko. “It also allows me more time to build on the progress we’ve made this year in bringing new, intuitive front ends to help our clients and analysts to find meaning in our market data.”

Wallman has extensive international sales and business development experience within the semiconductor, electronics, consumer electronics and IT markets. He has also recruited and managed sales and field application teams across EMEA. He spent ten years at IBM in several EMEA-wide roles including sales director for IBM Microelectronics and business area leader for several cross-brand Corporate Emerging Business areas. Prior to IBM, Martin spent 17 years at Texas Instruments in various product marketing, sales, global account management and sales management roles. He joined Texas Instruments straight after graduating from Southampton University with a degree in Electronic Engineering.

His role is to manage all the sales and business development activities at Meko, further developing the current business, but also investigating and developing new areas both in terms of the client base and the product and service offerings. One of his first tasks will be to roll out the new MekoQlik service which Meko says adds unprecedented depth to the data currently available for the monitor and TV markets.
