Magic Carpet stimulates, engages9 February 2017
Magic Carpet is an app-based interactive projection system from Loxit designed to stimulate and engage people of all ages and abilities in a wide variety of environments, including education and corporate spaces.
It features a motion capture camera that tracks users as they move over the projected apps. This movement data informs the software of the speed, direction and location of the movement, and the software then converts this data into dynamic audiovisual feedback, which users experience as the effect of their movements.
Magic Carpet is supplied as a fully integrated system and is available in two form factors: a height-adjustable portable system providing variable sized projection image, and a fixed ceiling installation.
The plug-and-play system responds to the slightest movement and as it supports multiple access methods, including gesture, eye gaze, mouse and touch; it supports UK national curriculum Early Years, Primary and SEN educational environments.
With 500 apps arranged into 25 categories, 35 customisable app templates and 5,000 media assets, Loxit says that the opportunities for creativity with Magic Carpet are virtually limitless. Users can share their creations via the online app store.
Additional features of Magic Carpet include an App Builder, the ability to control from iOS and Android apps, remote system shutdown and Tobii Dynavox Eye Gaze compatibility.
