Lutron refinements offer further savings

test 4 August 2010

Light control specialist Lutron is promising further energy and cost saving potential for end users with the launch of a range of upgrades to its Energy Suite of products.

Lutron’s wireless daylight sensors and occupancy sensors are now compatible with its GRAFIK Eye QS system, which is used for customisable preset light control. This means that daylight sensors can now automatically adjust artificial light levels in relation to the natural light entering the space; and the wireless sensors can be placed wherever required, quickly and easily. In addition, Lutron’s wireless occupancy sensors can control multiple zones, with different target light levels for each.

Lutron’s Quantum system now includes a DALI Emergency testing feature, enabling the automatic setting of complete discharge and functional tests for all DALI energy fixtures from one central location. As well as saving significant amounts of maintenance time, there are also significant cost benefits, as only one DALI Emergency software licence is required for each processor in the system.

A greater range of fluorescent and LED lamps can be now be controlled by Lutron’s Energi Savr Node QS module, now that it has been expanded has been expanded to include Switching and 0-10V versions. Energi Savr Node QS controls light by connecting occupancy sensors, daylight sensors and wallstations to DALI ballasts.

Finally, Lutron has upgraded its Radio Powr Savr and Rania Wireless RF Switch to be controllable by its Pico wireless control. Ideal as a retrofit solution, the Radio Powr Savr occupancy/vacancy sensor requires no wiring in and as such, can be installed in a matter of minutes. The Pico wireless control is also available as a hand-held remote control.

Andrew Bechgaard, head of marketing Europe at Lutron, commented: “We are committed to offering the best in energy efficient light control solutions and this latest set of upgrades to our Energy Suite of products demonstrates this.  From the smallest to the largest of our energy products, we are continually working to offer the ultimate in light control management, which provide both environmental and business benefits to the end user.”
