SMART Technologies CEO Nancy Knowlton (pictured here with executive chairman David Martin) told II: “The benefits of touch are well documented, with touch becoming a must-have function, whether in a phone, in a camera or on a screen. We expect significant growth in the use of camera-based touch systems because of some of the inherent advantages around durability, resolution, size and cost. We continue to actively develop our touch technology to ensure that it meets evolving market needs.”
Sen Huang, PixArt’s CEO, commented: “SMART is a pioneer in optical touch and related technology, and PixArt is pleased to form a co-operative relationship with SMART. We will devote ourselves to designing better, smarter and cost-effective optical ICs for PCs, notebooks and all kinds of applications.”
