ISE 2016: Lawo to show mc²36, Compact Engine and VisTool27 January 2016
The mc²36 all-in-one audio console and the 19in 1RU Compact Engine network-based processing and mixing engine are on show at ISE 2016, alongside the VisTool touchscreen control solution with integrated logic functionality and the Lawo Compact Engine.
The mc²36 live mixing desk features Lawo-grade mic preamps, a DSP micro-core with internal 512×512 port audio matrix, and integrated I/O, which Lawo say make it ideally suited to permanent installations with limited space.
As it is natively equipped with RAVENNA/AES67 technology, the mc²36 integrates into IP infrastructures. In combination with the Nova37 audio router and mc² Compact I/O stageboxes, multiple mc²36 desks can be used together for networked applications in live performance, installed sound and houses of worship.
The Lawo Compact Engine (pictured) is a 19in 1RU IP-based networked audio I/O, processing and mixing engine featuring power supply redundancy and expansion slots for addition of I/O cards.
It offers both touchscreen control and control via classic physical faders from Lawo crystal mixing consoles. The unit provides all of the comprehensive functionality found on a conventional mixer, as well as an integrated matrix of up to 288 I/Os. These can be pre-packaged from a broad range of modules, including RAVENNA/AES67 AoIP, MADI, AES, and Mic/Line.
VisTool, the touchscreen optimised control software, provides additional functionality and visualisation for the Compact Engine. The software is designed to be the central screen and interaction system, providing users with full control over all relevant functions.
It offers access to channel DSP processes, including EQ, dynamics, and bus routings, input parameters, and fader channel control.
Features like auto-mix and auto-gain enable easy workflows and fail-safe operation for routing and mixing.
