ISE 2013: BrightSign XD series makes European debut29 January 2013
Digital signage player manufacturer BrightSign is presenting its new XD solid-state digital signage media players to Europe for the first time at ISE 2013.
First introduced to the world at InfoComm MEA back in October 2012, the XD solid-state players provide a more affordable and reliable solution in comparison to PC-based signage solutions.
The new XD digital signage media players come in three models: the XD230 Networked Player, XD1030 Networked Interactive Player, and the XD1230 Networked Interactive and Live HDTV Player.
BrightSign’s new XD products has the ability to display Live HDTV content from HDMI or coax sources, while a Clear QAM tuner is used to play closed-circuit TV broadcasts, and the HDMI input is used to play any broadcast content – even HDCP-protected content.
All models include an advanced video decoding engine with scaling technology that delivers 1080p60 video and supports 3D content. The video engine is capable of decoding two 1080p60 videos or several lower-resolution videos simultaneously. All models also support HTML5, so content creators can use familiar development tools to create engaging content. In addition, BrightSign’s usual touch-screen interactivity is enhanced with swipe/gesture control.
