InstallAwards finalists: Retail, Transport and Public Space Best Project23 April 2015
With a little over a month to go before this year’s InstallAwards, we run down the shortlist for Best Project in the Retail, Transport and Public Space category.
This category is for projects where the aim of the installation is to inform, influence or entertain people as they shop, travel or undertake other aspects of their daily lives. Unlike the Audience Venues category, the installation is an adjunct to people’s activity, not at the heart of it.
For the Best Project Award we will be looking for evidence of as many of the following as possible:
- Technical innovation
- Elegant design – technical or aesthetic
- Meeting or exceeding the client brief
- Expansion capability/futureproofing
Melbourne Central – Nanolumens
This eye-catching DOOH display is the largest 6mm NanoSlim LED portrait display ever installed
Melissa’s London – Absen
Imaginative deployment of 3.9mm LED panels has produced a show-stopping retail backdrop
Shell digital signage network in Turkey – BrightSign
The country’s biggest out-of-home advertising network is planned to roll out to over 1,000 locations
South Bank Tower HD Projection – Inition
This ultra-realistic panoramic installation was designed to show customers the view of the London skyline that would be available from luxury penthouses still under construction
World Duty Free Store, Heathrow Terminal 2 – Blynk Digital Media
A suite of AV technologies to deliver the ‘retail theatre’ aspect of airside shopping were designed, supplied, installed, commissioned and are being maintained.
