Installation and PSNEurope teams to get wet and dirty this Saturday19 November 2015
While most sane people will be pulling their duvets around them and congratulating themselves on deciding to stay inside this forthcoming wintry weekend, spare a thought for four brave souls from Installation and PSNEurope.
Installation sales manager Gurpreet Purewal and account manager Pete McCarthy and PSNE editor Dave Robinson and account manager Rian Zoll-Khan are all taking part in Nordoff Robbins’ Hero Challenge in and around Wembley Stadium on Saturday 21 November.
Over 100 runners drawn from across the music and entertainment industry will attempt to complete the arduous 10km Survival of the Fittest ‘urban obstacle course’ in order to raise over £25,000 for the UK’s leading music therapy charity.
“Nordoff Robbins has been our charity partner at events in the past, so when their team asked us if we wanted to half-kill ourselves running, jumping, crawling, bruising and limping our way around the iconic venue – well, like idiots, we said yes,” said Dave Robinson, in-between gulps of protein shake.
“With obstacles with pun-worrying names such as ‘Joe Mangle’, ‘Block Party’, ‘The 100 Step Plan’ and – my favourite – ‘Crouching Sandbag, Hidden Hernia’, it sounds like we’re going to have a jolly old time.
“When we’re not sobbing in cold, wet, miserable exhaustion, that is.”
Installation’s Pete McCarthy, just back from 30 minutes on a rowing machine, added: “At the race’s halfway point – on the day the icy, Arctic winds hit London – we have to wade across the River Brent. Up to our thighs in dark, debilitating water. I can’t bloody wait for that, I can tell you. Ye gods.”
