InfoComm sets dates for AV Design Boot Camp24 March 2014
Trade association InfoComm International has announced the dates for its Design Boot Camp. The three intensive AV design courses, which prepare attendees to earn the CTS-D credentials, will run on dates in April and July at Chandos House, Westminster, London. They are open to those reading, working and creating AV designs, including AV designers, engineers, technology managers, project managers.
AV design level one (running 7-11 April) will explore the physics that affect the planning and design of AV environments such as sound reinforcement, display and projection needs. It will also teach participants how to use measurement tools, calculations and industry best practices to expand knowledge of the design process, as well as looking at the creation drawings, specifications and performance criteria, amongst other topics.
AV design level two, which shares the same calendar dates as level one, will allow attendees to discover how the building’s physical structure can dramatically affect AV design. Participants will also learn about working with other trades including HVAC, electrical, interior designer, lighting, IT and networking, and architects, and earn critical considerations to design better systems.
Level three will run 8-10 July and will involved attendees completing a comprehensive application of design best practices; conducting and documenting a needs assessment and determining specifications and system parameters (bandwidth, signal types, etc.). Participants will also learn how to collaborate with other professionals.and develop AV designs and documentation, as well as much more.
The organisation has also revealed details of a CTS study session – a one-day course that aims to prepare attendees for the CTS exam, which will be held on 10 April at Chandos House, Westminster, London.
