InfoComm 2016: Planar and Leyard reveal next-gen videowall displays9 June 2016
Planar, a Leyard company, has introduced two new models to its Clarity Matrix LCD videowall range, while Leyard has launched the TWA Series of fine pitch, low power LED videowalls.
The new videwalls displays under the Planar brand include the Clarity Matrix MX55HDX videowall display, which is claimed to have the industry’s smallest tiled bezel. And also the Clarity Matrix LX46HDU-3D, a videowall solution for those seeking a large format stereoscopic display for professional 3D visualisation applications.
When tiled together to create a videowall, the 55in MX55HDX provides a tiled bezel width of just 1.6mm. It combines what Planar claims is the industry’s thinnest profile extreme narrow bezel LCD display with design, installation and service benefits.
“Our award-winning Clarity Matrix line-up of LCD videowall displays has never been stronger,” said Jennifer Davis, chief marketing officer at Leyard and VP of marketing and product strategy for Planar. “With this miniscule tiled bezel width, unparalleled picture clarity and the industry’s broad product line, Clarity Matrix continues to demonstrate our leadership as the industry’s best-in-class source for LCD videowall solutions.”
The LX46HDU-3D LCD videowall display is a professional solution for universities, design firms, manufacturers and government customers seeking a large-format stereo 3D visualisation display. Users can utilise passive glasses to analyse 3D models and data as well as using the videowall as a collaborative workspace for standard 2D content.
“Mechdyne has deployed several CAVE2 large scale virtual reality solutions utilising the previous generation Clarity Matrix 3D models. With twice the resolution, the new Clarity Matrix LX46HDU-3D redefines the immersive experience and realism of the CAVE2 and elevates its applications in multi-data source collaboration,” said Mike Hancock, VP at Mechdyne.
The TWA Series from Leyard are 54in flat panels available in 1.2 and 1.8mm pixel pitches and offers 24/7 reliability and energy efficiency.
At InfoComm Leyard and Planar are showcasing the TWA Series in an 8K installation of 64 1.2mm pixel pitch displays. In addition, the booth features a demo of a 4K LED videowall comprised of fine pitch 0.9mm displays.
“The Leyard TWA Series was designed to be a seamless drop-in replacement to legacy LCD and rear projection videowalls,” said Steve Seminario, VP of product marketing at Planar and Leyard International. “Customers want truly seamless LED technology, while maintaining their requirements for videowall size, aspect ratio, standard resolutions, 24/7 reliability and a desire to view the videowall from reasonable indoor viewing distances. We’re excited to showcase our trailblazing LED videowall offerings, along with other state-of-the-art advances in display technology, at InfoComm 2016.”
