Imago bringing Samsung large-format displays to VC market10 May 2010
The specialist video communications distributor says that the Samsung large-format display range is "very broad" in scope. Incorporating LCD, plasma and – in the near-future – energy-efficient LED units, the range offers 1080p resolution, steady images, sharp text, high contrast ratio and extensive networking capabilities.
As well as the primarily LCD-focused large-format displays, Imago is expecting to add to its portfolio Samsung’s new LED models, which are said to enable 40% savings on energy consumption over conventional large screens.
"The Samsung range is very broad, delivering superb entry-level 32in models through ultra slim bezel displays ideal for video walls, up to 82in screens sought by professional users," said Vicki Ballard, senior product marketing manager at Imago Group. "Videoconferencing is increasingly being carried out in larger spaces, whether in corporate environments or as a means of delivering impactful messages to a broader audience, and large-format displays are designed for exactly this purpose."
Graham Long, vice president, IT business at Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, added: "Our aim is that every day, every person in the UK should see a Samsung display, and we are continually extending our market leadership, bringing this goal closer to reality. Businesses are constantly looking for smarter and more cost-effective ways to do business, and the versatile combination of videoconferencing on energy-efficient large-format displays can bring real benefits to a wide range of businesses."
Looking to the overall future of large-format displays in the VC market, Ballard told IE: "We are seeing increasing demand for high-definition video applications, high-end telepresence and digital signage, which need superior quality displays. Samsung offer a versatile range of panels that offer great performance at a price-point that appeals to our reseller customer, so they are the ideal partner for us."
