Nuremberg’s Church of Saint Jacob – one of Germany’s oldest churches – has been installed with a new sound reinforcement system featuring Dynacord and Electro-Voice units.

Built in around 950 AD, the church is now used not only for religious services, but for lectures and concerts as well. To help meet the differing requirements, the church elected to invest in a new, versatile sound system.

Acoustic design and implementation was conducted by locally-based company Barowski AG, with MD Michael Barowski selecting Dynacord and EV products. A total of eight Dynacord CPS-320 sound columns were specified – four in the nave and four in the chancel – with sound reinforcement for the gallery and organ monitoring provided by EV S-40 compact speaker systems. The pulpit and lectern are handled by EVID FM 4.2 in-wall speaker systems, while two EV PA4150L and four EV PA2450L amplifiers provide power. System control is provided by an EV NetMax N8000 digital controller and an EV DC-ONE loudspeaker processor.

Michael Barowksi commented: “Thanks to the vast array of possibilities offered by the freely programmable digital control centre and the scalability and expandability of the system, we were able to accede swiftly and without difficulty to each new request submitted by the client as the project progressed. Their high quality, coupled with the invariably courteous yet highly competent and professional service offered by the manufacturer, are powerful arguments, we feel, for offering these brands to our customers as well.”
