grandMA console and server specified for Adidas strategy session

test 12 November 2007

The grandMA video media server was utilised to control 46 units of Barco Mipix-20. “The grandMA light controlled all the lighting fixtures as well as the media server,” noted Aljunied. “Last year I used a grandMA for the first time and since then it has been my choice of console. The flexibility, reliability and robustness are the best I’ve ever seen.”

The grandMA video media server allows for the use of 32 layers, while it’s also possible to reboot or shut down all connected MA mediaPCs centrally from the grandMA and to switch to the Pixel Mapper mode from the console. Additionally, the Sniffer-mode facilitates the control of 254 grandMA video stations from one grandMA.

Lighting equipment – all of which was supplied by SCM Singapore and Audio Resources Pte Ltd – included, among other fixtures, 16 Vari*Lite VL3000 spots, 10 Color Kinetics ColorBlaze units, six City Color 1800s and two Martin Atomic 3ks.

Jens Poehlker, sales director of MA Lighting Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, told II: “For this event our MediaServer was initially not even specified – only last minute was it added into the concept. After Fares did the presentation they liked it that much that they immediately wanted two of them to use all the effects. The most important thing for this kind of event is affordability, flexibility and ease of use. An integrated solution was necessary as nobody can afford to have dedicated video operators, lighting operators and lighting designers, etc. Our MediaServer with some custom-made bitmaps for the corporate logos and together with our console was the perfect fit. All the features are controlled from our console just like a moving light. How much easier can it get?”
