Global debut for new Kaleidescape disc vault

Up to 320 discs can be loaded into the new Kaleidescape DV700 Disc Vault system, which made its global exhibition debut at ISE.

Now shipping, the system accepts – and automatically imports – Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs. Designed for ease of use, the DV700 will work with all Kaleidescape servers.

“The DV700 really makes it effortless to add content to a system,” said Linus Wong, director of product marketing, Kaleidescape.

The manufacturer also demonstrated the Kaleidescape App for iPad. Allowing the user to guide their guests through the best moments in a collection, the free app is described as offering the convenience of browsing without interrupting playback.

Kaleidescape Scenes – a new system feature designed to put the most memorable moments of a movie collection at the user’s fingertips – and the 2.35 projection home cinema-optimising CinemaScape were also priority items for ISE 2012.
